Working Mum's Guilt, and Plenty of It!

As I put our son to bed tonight I realised that I won't be able to kiss him goodnight again for another five whole nights ... FIVE WHOLE NIGHTS!!!
It might not sound much to some people but other than when I had to back in to hospital with post-birth complications when our lad was eight weeks old I've never spend more than one night away from him, and unfortunately tomorrow I'm having to go away with work .
I've spent most of the previous week making sure that I had food in the freezer for both my OH and our little lad. I'm one of the those folk that need to make sure that every eventuality is covered, however if you ask my OH he'd probably say that I'm verging on OCD, but it works for me ...
I thought that I was sorted for tomorrow but on Thursday my OH came home from work and announced that he was going to be travelling to a different place of work on Monday and Tuesday and therefore he'd have to leave for work before my in-laws would be able to arrive to look after our son.
As a result our son is now being packed off to grannies on Sunday night until Tuesday. I'm sure that he'll have a ball but I feel really bad that not only am I not being able to spend time with our son because of work, but now his dad won't be able to either ... At least they'll have Tuesday and Wednesday night to themselves.
I'm back really late on Wednesday night and I'm off on Thursday, and I'm really looking forward to spending the day with our little lad.
I know that we both need to work ... our finances dictate that we don't have a choice ... but when situations like this arise it feel soooooooooo guilty and wish that things could be different ...
My boss even mentioned on Friday that there's another conference that we ought to go to in September ...
Let me get over this one first and then we'll see ...
